Four faces look out at us from a blue and black moon. A carved mask in the centre is an Eagle’s head with shining abalone eyes.  An Eagle head above painted on the background circle and one reversed at he bottom on the tail.  A human face on each wing joint referring to the relationship between the Eagle and Humans. 

 

Nu-Chah-Nulth master carver Patrick Amos has lived his life in the presence of Eagles.  Eagles are considered sacred by Indigenous People on the West Coast.   Its' feathers are widely used in ceremonies.
