Wolves are strong family members. They mate for life, hunt together in packs, and care for their young and each other. They are the animals that are most like humans. They have strong supernatural power which helps them be great hunters.  Wolves are highly respected in Native cultures.

Wolves did not exist in Haida Gwaii.  The Haida wolf crest was traded to the Haida from the Tsimshian.  Nevertheless, it became an important crest among the Haida.  Ghuuts is the Haida word for wolf.

Corey Bulpitt, Taakeit Aaya (Gifted Carver) Haida of the Naikun Raven clan is a great-great grandson of the famed Charles Edenshaw and Louis Collison.
