Keri-Lee Whitebear Cree and Ojibwa

My name is Keri-Lee Whitebear, I was born and raised on Coast Salish Territory. My mother is from Whitebear FN, Saskatchewan and my father from Red Rock FN, Ontario. I am Cree and Ojibwa. My Husband and children are from Tsleil-Waututh Nation, BC.
I was hooked before I even started weaving. My MIL shared her knowledge the first few visits I met her. From there, I knew I wanted to learn. A few years later, in 2016, I was invited to do a headband workshop, next a wall hanging and from there, amazingly, a Chief Robe. My weaving mentors from TWN and Squamish Nation gave me permission to share the knowledge of weaving and to continue teaching Coast Salish Weaving, passing along the teachings of each item made for ceremony.
I will continue to do so to help keep the culture Strong.
