William was born in 1966 at Alert Bay, British Columbia. The Thunderbird and Sisiutl (double-headed sea serpent) are his family crests.
In 1985, he began carving under the guidance of his uncle, Ray Wadhams. He was inpired by his family members, who are prominent northwest coast carvers.
Through his artwork, he's trying to help preserve and bring awareness to his native culture. His carvings are shown in select northwest coast galleries and private collections worldwide.
