Atlakam is the dance of the forest spirits. It tells the story of a child who runs away to the forest where he enters the world of the forest spirits. He learns the dances, songs and masks of that realm and brings them back to his people.
This series of masks was carved for a Potlatch and danced for three years. They were then lost so another set was carved, danced the fourth year, then burned in the fire at the potlatch. Later the original set was found and became available for sale.
