The mask itself is 11" long. The cedar bark adds 3-4" to the length. In Northwest Coast Native culture Raven transformed a flower into hummingbird. He then gave hummingbird a message to deliver to all flowers. When we see hummingbirds flying from flower to flower they are thanking them for adding beauty to the world. They're then rewarded with nectar.
Carved by Nuu-chah-nulth artist Patrick Amos.
