The mouth and legs move from pulling strings. The mask and octopus head are 22 inches in height, main mask is 9 inches deep and 11 inches wide. Carved in red cedar with copper teeth.
The artist, Shawn Karpes danced a mask like this at his family's Potlach. The octopus mask he studied to create it is depicted in the book ”Chiefly feasts”.
