Native American art - 19" high including the dordsal fin. The disk is about 14" diameter not including the cedar bark. Hand carved and painted.
Blue and black Moon alludes to the night sky. The central 3d mask is an Orca with the dorsal fin projecting straight up. On the outer circle is painted two Orcas facing each other. Where the two faces meet each other at the top they merge and become one face looking at us. Below the mask is another orca face upside down facing us.
Indigenous cultures have deep respect for these intelligent beings. The carving reminds us of the interconnectedness of all life.
