The Storm Pattern blanket represents the story of emergence for the Dine or Navajo people. The center of the pattern represents the place of the Dine's emergence into this world. Here they built the first hogan amidst their four sacred mountains indicated by the rectangles in each of the four corners. The jagged lines leading from each mountain is symbolic of streams flowing into Dine land.
