Native American jewelry by Tahltan artist Terrance Campbell. Lone mountain turquoise with spider web matrix.
This bracelet was created through a process called tufa casting. First the mold was carved in reverse into tufa stone, a volcanic, porous stone found on the Navajo reservation. Then silver was poured into the mould. The distinctive texture of the stone which is very soft but also resistant to high heats was transfered to the silver. Tufa moulds can only be used once. This is a unique and original work of art. The turquoise is a high end stone which Terrence mined himself at Lone Mountain.
