Adorn yourself with this exquisite sterling silver squid pendant, a testament to Kwakwaka'wakw artistry. Created by Gus Cook of the Namgis tribe, this 2" long piece showcases intricate repoussé and chasing techniques.  Note the meticulously detailed tentacles with individual suction cups, and the shimmering abalone inlays that add a touch of the ocean's iridescence. Cook, born in Alert Bay in 1982, draws upon his deep understanding of the sea creatures inhabiting his people's environment.  Trained by his brother Rande, Gus has mastered the art of shaping metal from the reverse (repoussé) and refining the design from the front (chasing), resulting in a stunning three-dimensional form.  This highly sought-after piece reflects his dedication to bringing Kwakwaka'wakw stories and figures to life.
