The Wolf is an important Haida crest design. It is a great hunter and is associated with supernatural power. Wolves don't live on Haida Gwaii. Haida people acquired the crest through trade with Tsimshian people on the mainland.
Taakeit Aaya or "Gifted Carver" Haida of the Naikun Raven clan was born in Prince Rupert BC in 1978. He is a great-great grandson of the famed Charles Edenshaw and Louis Collison.
