Indigenous art. 32" x 22", red cedar carving, traditonal Kwak'waka'wakw design.
Large carved panel almost 3' wide depicting a wolf howling at the moon. On the wolf's back is carved his ally the raven. There is a face in the moon. There are also small faces on the wolf's shoulder and hip, on his tail, and on the raven's wings. All the elements are connected in an ovoid shape. There is a red element connecting his mouth to the moon. Perhaps his tongue or his song. His tail and the raven's wing connects to the moon on the other side. This panel illustrates the connectedness of all life. The wolf’s relationship with the moon reflects his supernatural power.
