In Honour of International Woman’s Day

In honour of International Woman’s Day we would like to shine a light on the woman who is an integral part of our family business – our mother, wife, stepmother and pillar of our larger family and community.

Cheryl (Morgan) Gregory is a Gitxsan woman who was born on the Skeena River. She grew up living a traditional lifestyle of hunting, fishing and gathering on her traditional territory as a member of the Killer Whale Clan. Cheryl’s family, on both sides, is of the line of Hereditary Chiefs. Her mother is the head Chief of their house, carrying the name ‘Woosimlaxha’, a name that has been passed down through her family matrilineally since time immemorial.

Cheryl has earned an Associate of Arts in Indigenous Government Studies, a Native Family and Community Counselling certificate, a Business Administration diploma, and a Master of Neurolinguistic Programming. She has worked in various administrative positions in the Native and Women's Communities.

We hope that you will join us in recognizing and celebrating the achievements of all the women of our families and communities in honour of International Women’s Day. We invite you to visit our Facebook page, I love Cheryl’s Trading Post, to share your stories with us.
