Ravens and wolves hunt together. Ravens accompany a wolf pack. They fly high and their sharp eyes spot a prey easily. They call out to alert the wolves who kill the prey, tear it open, feed on it, and then leave some for the ravens. The ravens unaccompanied would be unable to access the tender meat protected by a thick hide.
Ravens play with wolf pups. They play tug of war with a stick or hold it just out of reach so the pup jumps and chases after the stick. Ravens peck at pus’ tails and the waves chase and nip at them. The strong relationship lasts into adult life where the mutually beneficial hunting relationship evolves.
