Trevor Angus is from the Gitxsan and Wetsuweten indigenous nations of BC. His traditional name is Tka’ast and is from the House of Wii minoosik.
Trevor grew up in Kispiox, British Columbia. He began training in grade four under the instruction of Victor Mowatt.
Trevor completed the four year training program at the Gitanmaax School of Northwest Coast Indian Art in Hazelton in 1998. He became skilled in the design and carving of plaques, ladles, panels, masks, rattles, paddles and bentwood boxes.
Trevor has trained with Gitxsan artists Ken Mowatt, Vernon Stephens and Art Wilson. Trevor apprenticed under the tutelage of master carver Phil Janze learning the fine art of jewelry making.
His unique style continues to evolve with deep clean cuts and northern formline design.
